Day 14 - Covering New Ground

Lessons Learned:
1.) John gets very cranky when he is sick.
2.) Our animals are more chill about this whole road trip than John is.

Today's Itinerary: Pack 2nd POD in Findlay and hit the road for Davenport, Iowa

Day started off early, up and at it to get the last of our few items into our 2nd POD. We got some help from Lauren's friend Kirsten, which help us greatly. We got everything pack up and ready in no time, in fact for the first time on this road trip we were actually ahead of schedule. So far ahead we got to eat at one of our other Findlay favorites, Main Street Deli.  No food picture, and I've discover a trend when it comes to when we do or don't take this photo. If we know the food is great and we are hungry there is absolutely no chance we can hold off from devouring whats before us.  So enjoy a lovely photo of their sign...

 

Lauren past her maneuverability test on the way too Iowa, we may or may not have done a bit of bobbing and weaving between construction barrels, when trying to get off the interstate for our exit. In our defense it was a bit of a crazy exit and cones were poorly placed.

Illinois has 2 lone windmills, they must not have gotten the memo from Ohio about windmills, in Ohio by the Indiana boarder there are about 50 windmills. I suppose you have to start some where with that.

We made it to Iowa, just before sundown. It was a struggle for me, I caught a bit of a cold and luckily for me beautiful pharmacist wife has been handing me a plethora of over-the-counter medication. I think she is so helpful more for her sanity then my well being. I can be a "bit" annoying I suppose when I don't feel well.

Today was the first hotel stay with the animals, with transferring the dog and cats to the room and all of the overnight bags and supplies. Dissembling the the roof storage and storing it in car for safety, all worked out nicely.  Although our neighbors did enjoy the site of watching us try to fan-angle everything through the hotel door.

Old Chicago pizza for dinner in the hotel room was relaxing especially since I not feeling 100%.
