Happy 4th of July and day 4 of our trip!!

"Don't you wish you could take a single childhood memory and blow it up into a bubble and live inside it forever?"

Trip Totals:
Walmart Trips Made - 4
Diet Cokes Drank - 4
Horse Trailers Seen - 3
Itinerary Changes Made - 1
Times John Made Fun of Lauren's Navigation Abilities - 1

Today's Itinerary: Traveling from Findlay, OH to Greenville, PA which is where I grew up

Lessons Learned:
1.) However long we decide it will take us to get ready, add 30 minutes to that
2.) Whatever time we plan to leave the house, add 1 hour to that
3.) I am responsible for packing all of our bathroom stuff even if it isn't mine.  John will be smelling flowery until we can make it to a store to get him his own deodorant.
4.) Smores still taste good even when made in the rain
5.) Backyard fireworks still work in the rain

Spanish Lesson Progress
We can now introduce ourselves, discuss where we are from, our ability/inability to speak and understand Spanish, and greet people.  We can also ask others for this information about themselves.

Hitting the road for day number 4.  Only 1.5 hours later than intended.
We decided a slight detour to go to a fireworks store was in order.  I have never been in one of these stores before.  It's like a grocery store for fireworks!  I was impressed and will definitely be checking out more fireworks stores in the future.
We ended up with quite a few fireworks because we couldn't decide on which ones to get.
I insisted that we get some Roman Candles because I had heard of them but didn't actually know what they were.
After stopping for fireworks, gas and breakfast/lunch we finally got on the road.  The animals are turning into great travelers.  Skittles enjoys looking out the window, especially when we pass semi trucks.

Our roof pack had its first test in the rain today.  Everything came out dry though :)

Tonight we solved the mystery of what caused dinosaurs to become extinct... death by sparklers!  It turns out they are big fans of bright sparkly things.

I did manage to narrowly escape the same fate as the dinosaurs.
Even though the rain put a damper on our evening, we still managed to get a fire going to make smores.  John was the head marshmallow toaster.

When I was a kid my dad always got a bunch of fireworks to set off.  We haven't done this in a number of years but decided fireworks were necessary this year.  Here is a sampling of the fireworks my dad set off in the rain tonight.
A glimpse at the grand finale of the fireworks.
